Welcome!

Welcome to Podiatry Ultrasound Online — the first online podiatry ultrasound training resource of its kind.  This site is dedicated to one thing: making you hugely successful with ultrasound in your practice.  That’s it.  That’s all.

This is a paid site with three levels of membership:

  • Trial members have access to the pages introducing sections of the site, but not to the core material.  If you would like to look around, call 800-839-0722 for a Trial Membership.
  • Silver-Level members have access to everything on this site except for one tab (”The Workshop”) in the Applications section. Silver is considered an annual subscription.
  • Gold-Level members have access to everything, including the “The Workshop”, which hosts more advanced materials, most of it contributed by other Gold-Level members. Gold is considered a lifetime membership.

Memberships to this site are, admittedly, a bit pricey.  There is a reason for that.  Two reasons, in fact. In part, it is because you have the capability of making a small fortune implementing what you are going to learn here.  Put simply, the material is just plain valuable.  (Adding just one procedure to your repertoire could amount to increasing your annual income $25,000 a year or more.)  And in part, the pricing helps protect our clients who have already invested with us, by keeping the information here among a limited audience.

Clients of Fisher Biomedical receive substantial discounts on these memberships (normally a one-year Silver-Level membership). If you do not already have an ultrasound yet, contact us and we can set you up with a Trial membership so you can have a look around the site. If you decide you want to move forward and get an ultrasound for your practice (and I strongly suspect you will), call us at 800-839-0722 and we can get you started.

Fact is, it’s not enough to simply own an ultrasound.  You need to know how to use it properly — quickly, effectively — and you need to know how to get the most out of it across a variety of applications, you need to know how to make your billing bullet-proof, and ideally you should be using your ultrasound to step up your marketing.  This site shows you all of that and then some. (For an outline of some of the material covered here, watch our Common Exams and Procedures video or enroll in a $1 Trial membership and have a look at our course of study.)

Adding an ultrasound to your practice is an exciting step.  It will significantly improve the care you are able to give your patients, and it will provide you with a substantial new income stream.  This site is designed to ensure that you get the very most out of your ultrasound in your practice.

Filling in the gaps …

Finishing up getting the material migrated over, but decided to fill in the gaps on much of the material by enlisting two professional sonographers to help capture sample images and training video footage for the site.  We’re very excited about this, and we’re expecting great things.  We should be ready to go live by February, and we’ll be filling in additional (ongoing) materials over the months following.  This new material is going to be quite amazing.

Getting close!

After two weekends and four 12-hour days, I just about have everything migrated over and the links all checked. It is difficult not to edit some of the material as I go, and that has slowed things down a little bit, but it should also make for a better experience once the site is opened up to everyone.

Next steps include getting at least some of the core video material posted, recording and posting a handful of new screencasts, and fleshing out two critical sections that should prove quite popular.

At that point we should be ready to go live. And I’m hoping to see that happen in the next week to ten days. At that point invitations will go out to all of our existing clients, with links to the sign-up page so they can create accounts and begin taking advantage of the site.

After that, over the course of the next several months, I will be working to fill in the gaps in the material, shooting and editing more material for the Applications section of the site, and posting annotated images with accompanying commentary from some of our most talented doctors. I also intend to enlist the services of a professional sonographer in order to really ramp up the arsenal of training videos.

Get ready to see some exciting developments. And if you are already a client of Fisher Biomedical, keep an eye out for your invitation … You should be seeing it very soon now.

A Plan of Study

I’m realizing as I assemble all of the material for this site that you are going to need a road map to know how to tackle it all.

This site just flat out has a ton of material on it, and it’s just going to get bigger and better over the coming months. What you are going to want is a plan of attack, a way to approach to this site systematically from Day One, and move through the material step by step, topic by topic.

So I am putting together a Course of Study, which, as it happens, you can now find by clicking here.

Migrating content

The amount of material I need to move over to this site is pretty staggering, and I want to make sure that I’m editing it as I transfer it and that I am organizing it in such a way that you will be able to make the most (and easiest) use of it once it’s here.  Stay tuned.  Lots of great things headed your way!
